AN ARTS ORGANISATION

Based in the heart of Luxembourg City, VEDANZA is a registered non-profit arts organisation established in 2006 by choreographer Emanuela Iacopini and sound artist Rajivan Ayyappan.

Over the past 20 years, VEDANZA has built a network of innovative artists and practitioners working in various media, including dance, performance, sound, new media, literature, and visual arts. The primary aim of this venture is to support, create, and perform contemporary work.

In 2015, the organisation established the VEDANZA STUDIOS for Arts and Somatics on Rue Louvigny.

ARTISTIC PRACTICES

The organisation includes the homonymous dance company, VEDANZA Artists International, which creates choreographic works for touring co-produced with major cultural institutions. Offering a collaborative environment in which to research, experiment with and develop art practices using emerging technologies, the organisation provides artistic residencies for Luxembourg-based and international artists. Cross-disciplinary events such as the iconic LIVE ROOM series and the more recent D I V E R S E programme are hubs for creative discourse and platforms for cultural exchange Artistic practices are shared through educational and professional development programmes.

SOMATIC EDUCATION

The organisation hosts Dance Science Net, a vibrant project dedicated to supporting health in dance. The project aims to enhance dancers’ mental and physical performance and prevent and manage injuries. The organisation provides somatic education through a range of movement disciplines and is home to the Axis Syllabus(c) Luxembourg Hub.
