Active Relaxation is a somatic class that aims at increasing peace of mind while integrating the body. We address coordination, elasticity, internal alignment (vs outer lines), strength and balance as complementary elements. Through the awareness of the breath the practice aims at bridging physical and mental relaxation. Following different lines of thought, the class is delivered from a scientific and holistic perspective through the exploration of human kinetics, the subtle body, and a wide range of images.
Results may include a decrease in excessive tension, stress, toxins, mood swings, and/or an increase in vitality, connection and positive thinking. The intensity of the class is moderate and suitable for all levels of experience.
Emanuela’s practice and teaching are weaved into her scientific and artistic background. Initially influenced by the Ken Eyerman Technique of Bodywork and Movement/Yoga with Awareness, her extensive Indian travels, residencies, and the Bangalore SVYASA University/Swami Visharadananda, her contemporary dance training, and in the past decade, her work has been enhanced by the findings of the international research on fascial anatomy and her ongoing application of the Axis Syllabus, a holistic movement analysis system for injury prevention and movement efficiency.
